Praised for his “powerful and lyric” baritone, Vincent Turregano is at home with comic and serious roles alike. Vincent joined Boston Lyric Opera's 2015-2016 season as an Emerging Artist covering the roles of Schaunard and Marcello in their production of LA BOHEME and singing Bogdanovitch in their production of THE MERRY WIDOW. He recently performed Dandini in LA CENERENTOLA with the Music Academy of the West, John Sorel in Menotti’s THE CONSUL, and the Marquis de la Force in Poulenc’s DIALOGUES OF THE CARMELITES. He also sang Guglielmo in Mozart’s COSI FAN TUTTE with Steven Lord conducting. Vincent made his Boston Opera Collaborative debut as Alwan in Mohammed Fairouz’s SUMEIDA'S SONG. As a lover of contemporary music, Vincent premiered a new song cycle for baritone and chamber orchestra by composer Stephanie Boyd, and also workshopped the role of Charles Rosen in the acclaimed new opera by Steven Stucky, THE CLASSICAL STYLE. He also covered the role for the Carnegie Hall debut and The Ojai Festival of Music debut of THE CLASSICAL STYLE. He performed, with John Heiss’s Contemporary Ensemble in Jordan Hall, Ligeti’s AVENTURES and Steven Stucky’s 4 POEMS OF A. R. AMMONS. Vincent joined Marilyn Horne’s “The Song Continues,” masterclass series this past January, during which he made his Carnegie Hall debut in a masterclass given by Warren Jones.
Vincent has performed Beethoven’s 9th SYMPHONY with Hugh Wolff and the New England Conservatory Symphony, and more recently with the Symphony by the Sea with Donald Palma. After receiving the Outstanding Male Young Artist award at The Natchez Festival of Music, Vincent was invited to sing Shaunard in their production of LA BOHEME under the baton of Maestro Christopher Larkin. He performed scenes and chorus with Des Moines Metro Opera, and has performed in main stage roles with Centenary College of Louisiana Opera Theater and Louisiana State University Opera Theater. His regional work includes LA BOHEME with Shreveport Opera, Opera East Texas, and Colas in Mozart’s BASTIEN AND BASTIENNE with Opera Louisiane. He sang in Mozart’s Requiem with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra and has performed in various other venues repertoire from Bach to Faure. With NEC Opera, Vincent performed Der Kaiser in Ullmann’s Der Kaiser von Atlantis and also Ottone in Montiverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea. While at LSU, Vincent performed Marcello in LA BOHEME, Dandini in LA CENERENTOLA, and Il Conte in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO with LSU Opera.
Vincent is an avid lover of art song and a winner of NATS First Place Regional Men (four years in a row), MNOC Auditions New Orleans District Encouragement Award, MNOC Mid-South Regional Finalist, and numerous scholarships and grants during his educational endeavors. He holds a Masters degree from Boston's New England Conservatory.
